Biographical / Historical
In 2009, Rochester School for the Deaf, in partnership with Bausch + Lomb, created its first and only FIRST Robotics team, RoboComm-X Team 3162. FIRST Robotics is an international high school robotics competition, during which teams of high school students and their mentors work for six weeks on a robot designed to complete simple tasks and play games. Co-led by Gary Behm (Director, Center for Access Technology, RIT), Wendy Dannels, and Joseph Stanislow (Instructional/Support Faculty, NTID), the team and their robot competed in the 2010 Finger Lakes Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, held at RIT's Gordon Field House and Activities Center

The collection is organized into two boxes. Box 1 contains documents pertaining to FIRST Robotics, organized into folders by topic and then chronologically. Box 2 contains small items (pins, cards, etc.) pertaining to FIRST Robotics.
