Scope and Contents

The Alice Woodward Interview audio recording is a recording of an interview with Alice Woodward by Gladys Taylor (former RIT archivist.) Alice discusses growing up in Rochester, classes she took while at Mechanics Institute, people and events she remembers from her time at the Mechanics Institute, what she did after graduating, and some of the family connections between the Booth and Bevier families.

Original cassette recordings were digitized on 12/13/2013.

Biographical / Historical

Alice Woodward (1891-1991) was born in August, 1891. She is related to both the Booth and Bevier families who were prevelant in RIT history. Alice graduated from Mechanics Institute in 1914, taking classes in teaching home economics. She later taught home economics in a school in New Jersey before returning to Rochester in 1975.
