Scope and Contents
The Craft Aesthetics Seminar collection contains slides and audio recordings from the 1979 seminar held at RIT. This was the third annual seminar hosted by the College of Applied and Fine Arts. Speakers include professor emeritus of Metallurgy at MIT, Cyril Stanley Smith; Japanese ceramic artist, Yasuki Ida; art history professor at Temple University, Shawn Lica; and art critic of the London Evening Standard, Edward Lucie Smith. An afternoon and evening session were held with each of the four guests speaking at both sessions. Original cassette recordings were digitized on 12/20/2012.

Biographical / Historical
The Craft Aesthetics Seminar was held annually by RIT's College of Applied and Fine Arts. It brought in world reknowned artists and craftsmen to speak about their work and field of specialty.
