Scope and Contents
The Wage and Salary Task Force Report provides an analysis of RIT salary and benefit policies in 1986. A good portion of the report explains how research was conducted and how data was formed. Commonly asked questions, such as, “Are men paid more then women?” are answered and investigated. The report concludes with recommendations to the president on changes to salary and benefit policies.

Biographical / Historical
During the State of the Institute address in 1985 President Rose recognized the concerns of RIT’s faculty and staff pertaining to salary and benefits. He made a commitment to ensure the economic well being of the RIT community. Rose asked Dr. Robert Frisina, Vice President and Secretary of the Institute, to serve as the chair of a task force that would thoroughly review policies and practices bearing on salaries and benefits. Task Force members were respected faculty and staff, and they began to explore and recommend, “Realistic improvements that might be made with respect to salaries and wages over the next five years.” Deliberations began in October of 1985 and concluded with the issue of the Wage and Salary Task Force Report in October of 1986.
