RIT men's hockey jersey and gloves
Collection — Box: 1
Scope and Contents
Allan Shepard wore the jersey and gloves during the 1961-62 season. The jersey is a "hand-me-down" from the Rochester Americans hockey team. It is made of wool, white with red stars and lettering and a blue stripe. The lettering was changed from "Americans" to "RIT." The gloves were purchased in Buffalo from the CCM manufacturers store. The cost of outfitting the whole team with gloves was so expensive that they was not allowed to practice with real pucks for fear of damaging the equipment.
