Martin Herbert Eisenhart (1884-1975) was born on September 16, 1884 to Charles Augustus and Emma (née Pfahler) Eisenhart. After graduating from Princeton University in 1905, Eisenhart earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1907. He found employment at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY, working in the chemical plant. After ten years at Eastman Kodak, he accepted a position as a production manager at Bausch & Lomb, a Rochester-based optical manufacturer. Eisenhart worked his way up the corporate later, eventually serving as president of the company from 1935-1950.
